UEFA Champions League — prediction game

The Champions League plays when nothing else does: Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. A Champions League prediction game therefore does not compete with your customers’ league weekend — it extends the week by two evenings on which they are watching anyway.

And it is the biggest matchday European football has to offer: 36 clubs, 18 matches, two evenings. Where a Bundesliga matchday offers nine fixtures to predict, this one offers twice as many — in half the time.

The competition

36 clubs, one shared table: the league phase has replaced the old groups of four. Every team plays eight fixtures against eight different opponents — four at home, four away, drawn from four pots. Nobody plays everybody, and everybody stands in the same ranking.

For your prediction game, that is the real progress. In the old format half a group was through after four matchdays and the remaining fixtures were a formality — the worst case for a prediction game, because interest collapses precisely while the season is still running. Now 36 clubs fight for 8th place and 24th place until the very end, and no match is dead.

The calendar turns that into a marketing rhythm you did not have to build: eight matchdays from September to the end of January, each spread across Tuesday and Wednesday evening, nine matches per evening. From February the knockout phase takes over — two legs per tie, so two evenings per round again, running into June.

Why a UEFA Champions League prediction game?

Two evenings that get in nobody’s way

Tuesday and Wednesday after work: the premier class complements the league weekend instead of replacing it. Offer both and your week is covered.

18 matches per matchday

Twice as many fixtures as a Bundesliga matchday — and every single one is its own deadline, its own reason to open your page.

One table for 36 clubs

Since the league phase, everyone stands in the same table. There are no more settled groups whose closing fixtures interest nobody.

How it plays out

A Champions League matchday ticks differently from a league weekend: it is shorter, denser and runs in the evening. That is not a claim about football but about the platform — this is how it runs on your page.

  1. Tuesday and Wednesday: nine matches per evening

Predictions stay open until kick-off, match by match — every fixture has its own deadline. With nine matches on one evening that means: anyone who has not predicted by just before nine comes to your page exactly when they are sitting in front of the television anyway.

  2. Two hours in which the table never stands still

Nine matches in parallel, results arriving continuously, the ranking reshuffling with every goal. A Bundesliga matchday spreads that across a weekend — here it happens in one evening, in one go. That is exactly why your participants stay on the page for the full 90 minutes.

  3. Nobody is out until the last matchday

In a table of 36 clubs, who goes straight through to the round of 16, who has to play off and who is eliminated stays open to the end. For your prediction game that means: there is no matchday on which it stops being worth looking in.

  4. The one evening when everything runs at once

On the final league-phase matchday all 18 matches kick off at the same time — so that nobody knows what the competition is doing. Two hours in which your entire prediction field reshuffles and the league phase is decided. A date to plan a campaign around, because it is fixed long in advance.

  5. From February every mistake counts double

The knockout phase is played over two legs: two evenings per round, and anyone who predicts wrong does not have 30 matchdays left to make it up. The prediction game runs all the way to the final — and therefore into June.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Champions League league phase work?

36 clubs stand in one shared table. Each plays eight fixtures against eight different opponents, four of them at home. Places 1 to 8 go straight to the round of 16, places 9 to 24 play off in February for the remaining eight tickets, and from place 25 the season is over.

How many matches can be predicted per matchday?

18 — spread across Tuesday and Wednesday evening, nine per evening. A Bundesliga matchday has nine matches across an entire weekend; a Champions League matchday has twice as many across two evenings.

Why do all matches on the final league-phase matchday kick off at once?

So that no club has an advantage from already knowing the other results — with one shared table, your own rank depends on everyone else. For your prediction game that evening is the climax of the league phase: 18 matches, two hours, everything at once.

Is the prediction game available in English?

Yes, and at no extra cost: German and English are included in every package — even the smallest. For locations or customers outside Germany you need neither a bigger package nor an add-on.

Can the Champions League be combined with the Bundesliga?

That is exactly what it is made for: from the Max package several competitions run in parallel — same participants, same domain. The league carries the weekend, the premier class the midweek evenings.
